Teases & Dares’ Remix Round Up featuring; Bunny X (Earmake), Brand New Heavies (GP Club Mix), Bright Light Bright Light (Roman Fashion House Mix) & Lou Hayter (The Reflex Revision)

13 Oct

Seems as good a time as any to bring you another of our bumper crop of reworked bangers.

It will come as no surprise to T&D regulars to learn that Bunny X’s ‘Love Minus 80’ album is going to feature prominently on our top 100 albums of the year rundown (which we have just started working on). There’s a remix album in the works and the first taster is Earmake’s reimagining of ‘The Darkest Place’. The single artwork on this one gives you a good idea of what to expect. It’s mega charged dark sci fi synthwave made for the dancefloor. We’re pumped to see how the rest of the album is given a fresh look – not that we are at all finished with it in original form!

The Brand New Heavies just released a very comprehensive and lovingly put together singles collection called ‘Never Stop’. The CD comes with a host of classic remixes and we are especially enjoying the GP (Graeme Park) Club Mix of ‘Back To Love’ which is a percussive house jam to behold.

T&D regular Bright Light Bright Light released a remix EP earlier today for his recent ‘Down To One’ earworm. We’ve selected the Roman Fashion House mix which keeps Rod’s vocal front and centre while cranking up the beats and danceability from the single version.

Last up, we were thrilled to be the first people through the door at the opening of the new Drumsheds superclub venue in London last weekend. Opening night was La Discotheque and our dear Lou Hayter expertly dj’d a very fun set which included Chemise’s ‘She Can’t Love You’ alongside Prince’s ‘Controversy’ and The Adventures of Stevie V’s ‘Dirty Cash’. It all popped off! We nabbed a chat with Lou after her set and of course asked her when she’ll be following up her cult classic ‘Private Sunshine’ album. The good news is that fresh tunes are on the way. In the meantime The Reflex has released a vinyl 12″ which includes his groovy takes on Lou’s ‘Time Out Of Mind’. Hear the edit again amongst the links below and grab the physical from all good online record stores.
