Park Hotel – Turn Back Time

30 Jan

Park Hotel just dropped their stunning EP ‘Nothing To Lose’ and from it here’s ‘Turn Back Time’ which might just be their poppiest moment yet.

Magdalena Bay – Money Lover

30 Jan

This pair can do no wrong. ‘Money Lover’ follows a string of perfect pop singles over the past year or so. This new one is a bit more sophistipop and chilled, complete with sax solo – hopefully news of an album will follow soon?

Josefin Öhrn + The Liberation – Desire

30 Jan

Deliciously dark and throbbing psychedelic electro from Josefin and gang. ‘Desire’ is taken from the forthcoming ‘Sacred Dreams’ album which follows the incredible ‘Mirage’ record.

Jenny Lewis – Red Bull & Hennessy

26 Jan

One of our all time favourite artists finally returns with a new solo album in March. It’s been yonks since ‘The Voyager’ and we couldn’t be more excited for ‘On The Line’ to be in our ears. The first reveal is new single ‘Red Bull & Hennessy’ which opens a little like Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams’ before Jenny’s signature lyrics and vocal delivery take over. Ringo Starr on drums too apparently.

LIONE – Kids (featuring Miranda Glory)

26 Jan

LIONE returns with what initially sounds like a take on The Midnight’s synthwave sound before exploding into a choppy drop. Vocals courtesy of T&D favourite Miranda Glory. Gorgeous artwork as ever.

Christina Castle – American Hustle

26 Jan

This US based Aussie just dropped a pretty stunning 3 track EP ‘Chapter 1’. From it here’s ‘American Hustle’ which is like a poppier take on the Lana sound circa ‘Born To Die’. The vocal is beautifully clear and uncomplicated.

TEEN – Runner

26 Jan

TEEN are cranking up the synths on ‘Runner’ – the 2nd taster from their forthcoming ‘Good Fruit’ album. Loving the direction the ladies have taken – this more energetic electronic sound is really suiting them.

Blu DeTiger – In My Head

26 Jan

New pop star alert! Blu DeTiger has the best new bop from January 2019 with ‘In My Head’. Loving the shades of Confidence Man, Kid Sister, Ana Matronic and Lady Ms Kier on this one. Super colourful and entirely danceable.

The Golden Filter – Cut My Hair

19 Jan

The Golden Filter finally dropped their ‘Dislocation’ EP and here’s an instant favourite in the super dark technoey throb of ‘Cut My Hair’. Synths that bubble then slap and ghostly vocals which sound like they might be coming from the next room make this one all kinds of atmospheric.

Futurecop featuring Parallels – We Belong

19 Jan

Uplifting synthwave from Futurecop and Parallels on their latest collaboration following the fantastic ‘Edge Of The Universe’.
