Still Corners – Lost Boys

30 Jun

Still Corners return with an even darker and more synth heavy sound than we have come to expect from these dream pop masters. ‘Lost Boys’ fills the void very nicely left by the ridiculous delay we face waiting for The Chromatics’ album to drop.

Bobbypin – Consequence

30 Jun

You know how I love a bit of yachtpop right? Well Bobbypin takes yachtpop and merges it with moody synthwave and creates something quite unique. An EP is set to follow but for now plug in your ears and listen to the delightful ‘Consequence’.

Dotter – Creatures Of The Sun

30 Jun

Already told y’all about this one but it’s now with video and it only enhances the epic nature of the tune. Still sounds like a credible Eurovision winner to me.

Nite-Funk – Don’t Play Games

30 Jun

After stunning me with ‘Let Me Be Me’ last week, Nite-Funk (Nite Jewel and Dam Funk) go for more nite and less funk with this late evening jam.

Bec Sandridge – You’re A ******* Joke

30 Jun

Loving the Kraftwerk feels from the male models/dancers in this video. Bec has produced two super high quality jagged yet catchy pop punk tunes now and she seems set for much acclaim. Looking forward to an album at some time hopefully sooner rather than later.

Angel Olsen – Shut Up Kiss Me

30 Jun

Angel debuted the 2nd taster from her forthcoming album ‘My Woman’ earlier this week. ‘Shut Up Kiss Me’ doesn’t possess the synth heavy sound of previous track ‘Intern’ and so the new album might not be such a change of direction after all. Both sounds work for me.

Wrabel – 11 Blocks

29 Jun

Potential summer radio smash alert. ’11 Blocks’ is going to sound huge on the radio and with a bit of a push this could have Gotye level success. I loved ‘Ten Feet Tall’ too so this is no fluke.
