Definitely one to file along with Annie and Little Boots (we are being rather spoiled with all the LB and Annie activity this week) with a bit of AlunaGeorge thrown in for good measure. Pawws manages to mention falling into the groove in the first verse which is always a very encouraging sign I think. Release date coming soon.
Little Boots – Broken Record (video)

Only one week to go until Nocturnes. Very pleased to see the majority of the reviews being positive. Also nice to see Victoria is still making videos and this roller disco effort for Broken Record is one of her better efforts. Loving the Kim Wilde roots (as in hair) as well – have always thought Victoria demonstrated more than a passing nod to Dame Kimmy.
Annie – Tube Stops And Lonely Hearts

We wait years, literally years, for new Annie music and then low and behold we get TWO new songs inside a week. And today, we get a video!
Tegan & Sara – I Was A Fool
25 AprAnd from one of the best pop albums of 2012 to one of the standouts from 2013. I have a feeling this track could be the breakthrough single for the gals – a little bit of Radio 1/2 support and this could be the tune of the summer. The Heartthrob album is quite stunning.
Dragonette – Giddy Up
25 AprAnother single from the Body Parts album and it’s a goodie. Martina and the boys knock it out of the park once again. For those who haven’t checked it out yet – Body Parts was one of the best pure pop albums last year. I was lucky enough to catch them live at the Popjustice Christmas party at the end of 2012 and they were as awesome as ever.
Clubfeet – Heirs and Graces
25 AprOne of my best Aussie purchases. This South African/Aussie band really deserve some success. The album is totally solid and perfect for the summer. There’s a mixture of the more dancey stuff alongside the more indie electronica (like Empire Of The Sun or Cut Copy). The singles Heartbreak and Everything You Wanted are standouts but the rest of the album is really growing on me and Cape Town is another highlight. Here’s an album preview.
Say Lou Lou – Julian
25 AprYep they’ve changed their name from Saint Lou Lou due to legal issues – whatever they might be. This is their 2nd proper single following the gorgeous Maybe You. Bigger and bolder than single number one but not losing any of the intimacy. An album’s worth of this stuff will be swoonsome.
Ralph Myerz feat Annie – Take A Look At The World
23 AprRalph Myerz feat Annie – Take A Look At The World
Other than Ciara the most delayed album right now must belong to Norway’s finest Annie. Finally this week we get some new music in the form of this radio rip. Unmistakenly Annie. Hopefully the Richard X and Little Boots project Annie has been involved with will also bear fruit. It’s been way too long.
Janelle Monae feat. Erykah Badu – Q.U.E.E.N

Here’s the first taster from the uberfunky and supercool Janelle Monae’s new album. It’s a bit of a departure from the Archandroid but seems like it will be a grower.
Lana Del Rey – Young & Beautiful

This is quite simply bloody gorgeous. I may melt when she sings this live in London when I see her in a few weeks. I cannot remember being this excited for a gig.
