Puzzle – Little Black Book

29 Jan

Saw this fella supporting Bright Light X2 last year and he impressed. He has an EP entitled ‘Babylon’ on the way and a sample from that comes in the form of ‘Little Black Book’ which is a modern electronic sad banger.

Sailor & I – Chameleon

29 Jan

Storming yet subtle bit of brooding dance music from Sailor & I on ‘Chameleon’. This fella, based in Stockholm, has an album due very soon entitled ‘The Invention Of Loneliness’. This one swells and builds into a thrilling six minutes plus of electronic heaven.

Findlay – Waste My Time

29 Jan

Delicious noir pop from Findlay on this new track. I am having a dig through her back catalogue to catch up and he has some talent on display for sure. Loving her big, indie voice atop the early 80s synths.

Jamiroquai – Automaton

29 Jan

Was not expected Jay Kay to return with this wonky French disco space age gem. Love the off kilter synths. An album like this would be quite wonderful. Kraftwerk, Moroder and Toro Y Moi in a blender on this one.

PARTS – Flowers

29 Jan

This duo have a lovely little 3 track dark-pop EP out there right now. ‘Flowers’ now has a video and it suits the DIY bedroom synthpop aesthetic so well. For fans of the lilac-tinged dreamy sounds of Furniteur or Priest.

Gigi Rowe – 24/7 Dreamers

29 Jan

Gigi’s not letting up with those 80s flecked pop bops, which follow a similar musical path to Carly R-J’s last album and b-side collection.’24/7 Dreamers’ is another rainbow coloured synth pop gem.

LP – Other People

29 Jan

I see that LP announced a decent sized London gig for April – that’s one hot ticket for sure. We have a couple of new videos to enjoy too – here’s the clip for ‘Other People’.

Savoir Adore with Paperwhite – Too Late

28 Jan

The artwork lets you know what colourful pop you have in store when you give this a spin. I’m a fan of both acts and they collide beautifully on ‘Too Late’ – this could almost be a Scavenger Hunt track (which makes me very happy).

28 Jan

I overlooked NV’s album ‘Binasu’ last year. Thankfully those reliable peeps at My Old Kentucky Blog gave me a reminder to check this out when sharing the new video for ‘KATA’. Russian pop is on the rise and this track and the visuals that go with it are joyous.

Furniteur – Air Castles

27 Jan

Loving the variation across the three tasters from Furniteur’s forthcoming ‘Perfect Lavender’ album. New track ‘Air Castles’ is dreamy, sad synthpop.
