SebastiAn – Handcuffed To A Parking Meter featuring Sparks

30 Nov

Huge highlight from SebastiAn’s recent album ‘Thirst’ which features a whole host of mega classy guests including Gallant and Charlotte Gainsbourg. It’s this track with the legendary Sparks which grabbed our attention. It’s LCD Soundsystem meets French electro squelch and we love every second of it’s wonderful craziness.

dj poolboi – Lilacs featuring Lucy’s Mirror

30 Nov

We fell in love with the super emotional ‘Like We Were The Last Two People On Earth’ earlier this year. Following on from that, dj poolboi just shared his first EP proper (‘Forever Yours’) and it’s a delight. Dreamy electronica throughout and the best example of this is ‘Lilacs’ which features¬† Canadian folkies Lucy’s Mirror. Gorgeous.

Tush – Don’t Be Afraid

30 Nov

Riding the disco wave is Canadian duo Tush. ‘Don’t Be Afraid’ is our 2nd mention for Tush and we are feeling the Moloko vibes on this one. Loving the wonky disco noir on offer here.

NINA – Automatic Call

29 Nov

Reblogging this a week after the video dropped due to the amazing remix package available today. There really is something for everyone although we couldn’t love the original more if we tried. Our synthwave queen has created a Drive soundtrack homage with her unique stamp and blissful vocals. ‘Synthian’ is the new album coming in 2020 and we are without a doubt it will be featuring in our year end best of list 12 months from now.

Ronika – Solitaire

29 Nov

The disco revival continues at pace although to be fair Ronika has been an advocate of the genre for yonks. Her new tune ‘Solitaire’ has a glamourous and chic feel without being too polished.

Approachable Members Of Your Local Community & Dulcie – Strangest Places

24 Nov

Two huge Aussie talents collide on this dreamfest of a new single. A subtle indie groove with some Antipodean musical sunshine very much in the mix. These bands are quite splendid in their own right but have come up with something really quite special by way of this collaboration. It feels like JUSTICE jamming with Gypsy and the Cat.

Touch Sensitive – Perfume

24 Nov

Touch Sensitive brings his silky luxury dance pop sound to a new EP which arrived this week. T&D superstar Holiday Sidewinder was apparently involved in the writing on this one so we of course choose it as the EP highlight.

Fiorious – Future Romance

24 Nov

Here’s a deep and delicious housey banger to get you on the move this bleak Sunday morning. Fiorious brings a soulful vocal to this dark yet uplifting and euphoria inducing club track. Lots of pretty people lose their clothes and get messy with red paint in the video.

Cherryade – Feel Good

24 Nov

For anyone missing the shouty brat pop of The Ting Tings or Sleigh Bells (or Shampoo if you wanna go back a couple of decades) say hello to London duo Cherryade. They have a good few tunes in their back catalogue but it’s the newie ‘Feel Good’ which caught our attention. A decent anthemic pop stomp if ever we heard one.

Bell Towers – Juicy Blend

24 Nov

Hailing from Melbourne but based in Berlin, meet Cascine’s latest signing Bell Towers. Bubbly synths with highly danceable qualities is how we describe lead single ‘Juicy Blend’ which has a Neil Tennant-ish vocal which feels a wee bit tongue in cheek but totally perfect for the track. Remixes are on the way including one from Jaako Eino Kalevi.
