This won’t be for everyone but if you like your pop a bit theatrical then this might appeal. Australia’s Mia Milan certainly looks every inch the pop star in the accompanying video. Could be a real grower.

The disco revival is not over yet and Canada’s Ralph keeps it going with her new track ‘Trouble’. A slightly edgy vocal delivery a bit like Grace Jones and with a totally 70s disco baseline throbbing away this is just perfect.
Alison’s ‘Run’ album is a classic dance album in the making. She appears to be busy tearing up warehouses with her DJ show at the moment as well as just dropping a wad of remixes from the album on her YouTube channel.
Conchita performed this tune as part of the half time show at Eurovision last weekend and it appears on her recently released debut album. It’s a corking bit of 90s house piano drenched dancefloor fun. With a decent video and bit of promotion this could be a huge radio and club hit.
Sweden’s Noonie has been busy of late as a songwriter for hire – notably penning hits with and for Charli XCX and Avicii. She’s back with a new tune she obviously deemed too good to give away. ‘I’m In Love’ is a crazy bit of eccentric pop and the attached video includes a very interesting use of a hoover – don’t try it at home kids.
Holychild’s stupendously titled album ‘The Shape of Brat Pop To Come’ is out next week and one of the many killer tracks on it is ‘Money All Around’ which now comes with a video. These guys do this type of music so well. Hope they get the attention they deserve.
Two talents collide right here as Aussie wunderkid Flume recruits Miike Snow vocalist Andrew Wyatt for this new track from Flume’s forthcoming album. Flume’s debut album and especially the track ‘Holding On’ remind me of a trip I made to Australia during which I snapped up albums by the man himself as well as local srtists like Clubfeet and Emma-Louise. Good times.
Here are some Swedes who are unlikely to be associated with anything Eurovision (not that I’m dissing it – Heroes is a massive tune). Following up their ‘Skyer’ album there’s a bit of M83 creeping into their sound which is also a but Say Lou Lou gone shoegaze. Lovely. And with sax solo at the end I think!
I am such a fan of Kate Miller’s early track ‘Fortify. It’s great to hear her on something probably very different to her solo material such as this bit of blissed out sunset chasing chilled loveliness. Perfect for summer – if we ever get one.
CAPPA’s 5 track EP ht the streets recently and ‘This Is Love’ is the lack track to be unveiled. I love how the EP skips about with the electronic pop genre – at first I thought she was going to be LIZ part 2 but then she went all Lorde and now on this track, well, she’s just CAPPA. Well worth a look and definitely one to watch.
