On Friday we were scrolling through all the international New Music Friday lists, as we do, and stumbled across something very special in France! We spotted a feature for a singer whose debut album we adored a few years back – this being Ms Norma Jean Martine. The placement for the track was super high so we figured this needed to be investigated. A few bars in and we thought “OMG it’s Kim Wilde’s ‘Cambodia'” and so it is!! Ofenbach have used the classic Ricky and Marty Wilde composition as the basis for a mega banger. ‘Cambodia’ was always huge in France so it makes sense for this track to have a whole new lease of life. Norma Jean’s vocal is an absolute powerhouse and the production is foundation shakingly good.
