Teases & Dares’ Disco Round Up featuring Kx9000 (James Curd Remix), Bobby Thurston (The Reflex Revision), Tonique & Man and 79.5 & Durand Jones

25 Mar

Well we have been laying low due to illness but felt roused by a swathe of groovy new disco releases this week. We’ve collected a bunch together here for you.

James Curd adds some sparkle and spice to Kx9000’s ‘Sit Back Disco’ (yet more to die for artwork from Liozrh). Then The Reflex does their trademark thing in ten minutes of disco heaven for the Unidisc release of the Bobby Thurston classic ‘You Got What It Takes’. That slides nicely into some summery jangle from Tonique & Man’s 2nd taster from their forthcoming collaborative album. ‘You Make Me Feel So Good’ does just that and puts a spring in our laboured step.Last up. 79.5 team with Durand Jones for the single which announces their new album coming soon on Razor N Tape. ‘Our Hearts Didn’t Go That Way’ sounds like a vintage brassy 60s girl group gem with added soul courtesy of Durand and a sprinkling of psychdisco a la Say She She.
