It’s been a sweet while since we shared any music from the silky smooth Toucan Sounds label (of whom we are long time fans). We’re putting that right tonight with this stunning collaborative piece between Lyric Christian and Toucan Sounds’ head honcho Robert PM. ‘Hands Off (My Crown)’ is a laid back yet, at the same time, uplifting anthem. Lyric calls a warning shot but does so with such rich and honeyed tones. A hypnotic and sumptuous slice of slightly dazed disco with twinkling piano house keys. “I’m the hot water to your black tea, steamy” might be a lyric (pun unintentional for once!) of the year contender too.
