‘Midnight Proposals’ is the seductively titled forthcoming album from Jennifer Touch. Latest single ‘Sacred Type’ is the one which prompted us to pre-order the record, the release of which is just 2 weeks away (February 17). The artist describes the sound on the new album as “Post-Wave-Cold-Pop-Acid-Romance” which colours us intrigued. On ‘Sacred Type’ there’s the urban hinterland electronic fuzz done so brilliantly by LoneLady but also an early 80s anthemic pop heart beating away a la Toyah and early Kim Wilde. Nods to PJ Harvey and Client are also evident. That’s a host of influences we welcome and they crash together in a deliciously dark and danceable way.
