The speed with which remix albums are popping up after the original release is quite astounding. In the case of Sally Shapiro’s ‘Sad Cities’ we are not complaining! The album is going to be a contender for the best of the year and this rapid fire remix collection is only enhancing our enjoyment. The choice of collaborators is entirely on the money – making it very difficult to highlight just two (we will surely mention more in one of our forthcoming remix round ups). Today we have plumped for a pair which share a summery synthwave DNA – stellar work by Sunglasses Kid and Ben Macklin here. Dreamy electro is the order of the day for ‘Dulcinea’ and ‘Tell Me How’ with neither remix straying a million miles from the originals but steeping the songs in a longing nostalgic warm evening glow.
