‘Life Is Like A Fairytale’ is the new album from Alina Valentina. Based in Holland, Alina is making some icy synthpop with dark tones but still very much with pop sensibilities (fans of Boy Harsher will approve). We’ve spun the record a couple of times and the quality runs deep, making it tricky to pick a standout for you. We’ve gone for ‘Once Upon A Timeline’ in the first instance due to the perfect use of the robo-vocals mid way through (Alina is a big sci-fi/horror fan). We also draw your attention to ‘Magic’ – the first bleeps of which recall Kim Wilde’s ‘Cambodia’ which is only ever a very good thing.
