Electribe 101 – Space Oasis

So we will admit that we listened to these new Electribe 101 tracks thinking they were just that – new. That’s a testament to the timeless quality of them as well as the ongoing preoccupation with recreating lush electronic sounds from past eras. It turns out ‘Space Oasis’ was recorded over thirty years ago for an album which never saw the light of delay amidst management issues and a label with, we can only presume, cheese in their ears (they chose not to release this, we mean seriously???). The good news is that the fabled 2nd Electribe 101 record ‘Electribal Soul’ will finally be with us next month. ‘Space Oasis’ is the 2nd taster and Billie nails some huge vocals in the pre-chorus and the chorus itself is awash with some devastatingly good programming and synthwork.
