The synthwave scene remains remarkably strong at the close of the year with many new releases hitting our ears this week. We’ve shared some choice cuts with you with this selection.
It’s been a while since we talked about Calvero and his stadium pop/rock sound. Makeup & Vanity Set add a wonky synthwave wooziness to ‘Black Rain’ and we’re enjoying it very much. It reminds us of Dollar’s take on ‘Oh L’Amour’!
LAU is already moving towards album number two after dropping a poptastic debut earlier this year. ‘What To Do’ is a danceable synth bop with pulsating beats setting the tone from the get go.
Caspro is an artist we grew to love in 2021 (the ‘Luxury Haze’ collection is lush) and his aesthetic is up there with our beloved L’Avenue. There’s a new mega chill EP called ‘Secluded’ and ‘Train To My Love’ is indeed the soundtrack to a neon lit all night train ride across Japan.
