Something For The Weekend: FNP/Hilit Kolet featuring Kay Elizabeth/Eats Everything & Frankco Harris/The Age Of Love (Charlotte De Witte & Enrico Sangiuliano Remix)

4 Sep

Here at Teases and Dares we have been continuing our exploration into less commercial/less vocal orientated dance music. To this end we thought we’d bring together a collection of the recent best in these genres to assist those readers and listeners making their first furtive steps back into club land.

FNP – We Got Love

First up it’s T&D regular FNP, who infuses his electronic beats with big ole dollops of sci-fi disco – evident again on crackling newbie ‘We Got Love’.

Hilit Kolet Featuring Kay Elizabeth – Techno Disco

Next up we have a tune we’ve been digging for several weeks, which hit streaming/download services this weekend. Brought to you by those legends at Defected, it’s Hilit Kolet’s ‘Techno Disco’ which will lodge in your brain and refuse to budge.

Eats Everything featuring Frankco Harris – Bobby & Ken

Patrick Topping’s Trick label is becoming a go to place for us for uplifting anthems. Eats Everything just released an EP called ‘Return to Hardbag’ and from it we are loving ‘Bobby & Ken’. Frankco Harris’ delivery adds some proper attitude and we wish we could see Mother Elektra storming the ballroom to this in ‘Pose’.

The Age Of Love – The Age Of Love (Charlotte De Witte & Enrico Sangiuliano Remix)

Admittedly we’ve come to techno reasonably late in life but that journey commenced largely thanks to Charlotte De Witte. Her remix with Enrico of The Age Of Love’s self titled cult classic has been flying on the Beatport charts and it’s out everywhere now for all to enjoy. It’s not quite as frenetic as Charlotte’s usual work but still super intense and seems to be a hit with fans of the original.
