Laura Mvula – Safe Passage

Here’s a 2nd Laura Mvula post inside a week. After sharing reworks of some of her biggest songs, Laura drops the first new material since signing to Atlantic. ‘Safe Passage’ seems to draw upon some exquisite 80s influences such as Joan Armatrading and Toni Childs (and dare we say it, a few of the synths sound a bit like A-ha!). Laura’s song structure is clever and technical yet warm and inviting. Perched for what the new album will bring.
