Well, Kylie’s ‘Infinite Disco’ streamed special event over the weekend was really rather joyous. It’s certainly enhanced our appreciation of her new ‘Disco’ album – not that we needed much encouragement (it’s been on repeat since release day last Friday).
An early favourite for us is ‘Dance Floor Darling’. It feels a bit like ‘Love At First Sight’ part 2 (the ‘Fever’ era ‘Love At First Sight’ rather than ‘Kylie – The Album’ ‘Love At First Sight’!!) with those Daft Punk French electro robo-vocals. We also appreciate the “baby baby baby” nod to ‘Spinning Around’ which heralded Kylie’s first proper disco dabble all those years ago. LOVE the way the track goes into overdrive speed wise in the final portion – this has to be one of the songs of the night when we get the ‘Disco’ concert experience for real. I can just see it.
