Horse Meat Disco & The Phenomenal Handclap Band – Sanctuary

We’ve been overwhelmed by the number of quality album releases this past month and some are belatedly getting our full and proper attention only just now. One of those is Horse Meat Disco’s ‘Love And Dancing’. Packed to the rafters with the funky disco bops we expected but there’s also a surprise or two – see exhibit A – ‘Sanctuary’. Featuring The Phenomenal Handclap Band, this one sounds like a classic Flirts track with first album era Bananarama attitude and a dollop of New Young Pony Club’s swaggering ‘Ice Cream’.
