Róisín Murphy is a pop star who deserves to be treasured, worshipped, put on a pedalstool etc. She remains one of the most stunning artists on the planet – the looks, the style, the attitude, the beats, the voice, the visuals, the artwork – it all just works. Most importantly, the music is just so uplifting and distracting. The escapism we all need.
New album ‘Róisín Machine’ comes on the back of a flawless run of singles and associated remixes. Some of the material will be familiar to you but she’s held back some new content too – see the industrial tinged and anthemic lose your self in the kitchen disco moment that is ‘We Got Together’.
We also want to mention that having received the vinyl and CD in the post this morning, the attention to detail of the packaging and the whole release is to be commended. It’s bloody gorgeous.
