Grace Lightman – Deep Space Getaway

Grace’s new album ‘Silver Eater’ could well end up atop our album of the year list come the close of December. We’ve been fans from the early singles like ‘Faultless’ and ‘Repair Repair’ (touched up a little for the album). From late night jazz flecked jams to glam stomp and space electro this is an eclectic and compelling collection of songs. A track which stands out (well, they all do to be honest) is one which actually features Grace the least from a vocal point – ‘Deep Space Getaway’ is an absolute throbbing beast of booming electronics and sci-fi bleeps with Grace’s divine voice used minimally with a few hushed spoken words here and there. To be fair dive in at any point of this album and it’s pure platinum (rather than silver) wherever you turn.
