The Long Blondes – Giddy Stratospheres (2021 Remaster)

The MOST welcome reissue of 2021 has been announced this week. We are talking Long Blondes! Kate, Dorian and co made two of our most beloved indie albums of all time and it’s their debut, ‘Someone To Drive You Home’ which has been remastered and prepped for a vinyl release next month. Unbelievably it’s 15 years since it landed but it sounds as fresh and as vibrant as ever – evidenced here with the first taster of the reissue being ‘Giddy Stratospheres’. Kate Jackson is one of the best and most charismatic leaders of an indie band this country ever produced – she’s pretty nifty at art too. We got in super fast to nab a pre-order of the divine red/yellow double vinyl (which will include all those genius b-sides the band were famous for – ‘Last Night On Northgate Street’ has special relevance for us as Suffolk folks!).
